Some Useful Advice For Getting Started

Starting the gym means getting the benefits everyone talks about, this means greater confidence, increased health metrics, and overall mood enhancements. We understand feeling a little hesitant, which is why we have compiled some useful advice any beginner can use when just getting started in the gym.

Start simple and don’t overthink it. Focus on learning the basics—like how to use machines, proper form, and building a consistent routine. Our team is always here to help, and we offer a free Beginner Gym Routine guide to get you started the right way.

Not at all. That’s what we’re here for! Power School Gym was built to support people at all levels, especially those just getting started. Everyone starts somewhere, and you’ll never be judged here.

Keep it light. Try 15–30 minutes of movement—maybe some walking, light machines, or basic bodyweight exercises. Ask questions, explore the space, and just get comfortable.

Aim for 2–3 days a week to start. It’s more important to stay consistent than to go hard right away. As you build confidence, you can slowly increase frequency and intensity.

It helps, but it’s not required. We recommend checking out our Beginner Gym Routine guide to give you structure without overwhelming you. You’ll progress faster with a simple plan in place.

That’s totally normal—and it passes quickly. Our gym is designed to be low-pressure and supportive, especially for first-timers. Everyone here respects the effort it takes to show up.
